Keep reading to learn about three more of our treasured cohort: Andrea, Dan, and Mike.

Andrea Dingsdale

What’s your role here at Depledge?

I am head of operations at Depledge, which means I take care of the day-to-day running of the office and am involved in all aspects of the business.

How did you first get into financial services?

I joined Scottish Life (now Royal London) in 1987 as an administrator. From there, I gained plenty of experience by working in different branches of our sector – including one of the biggest financial advisory firms in Europe, a major international bank, and various accountancy firms.

After 32 years of my financial services career, I joined Depledge upon its inception in 2013.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I enjoy all aspects of my work, from client interaction to organising and supervising the various departments. Being able to form relationships with everyone in the team, not just one specific department, is very rewarding.

What are your interests outside of work, and what would your dream job be?

Outside work I enjoy gardening and cooking (especially a hot curry). My dream job would be an astronaut!

Dan Gordon

What’s your role here at Depledge?

I’m a financial planning consultant, which means I support clients by problem-solving specific issues they may be facing.

I work alongside our other financial planners to forge actionable solutions for clients wishing to achieve their goals in the time frame that suits them.

How did you first get into financial services?

After graduating from Durham University in 2017, I joined Depledge in an assistant position, focusing on aiding other financial planners with reporting, research, and forming advice solutions.

Since then, I’ve achieved my CISI Level 7 in Advanced Financial Planning and become a Certified Financial Planner. I’ll continue to gain further qualifications as I progress through my career – this is only the beginning!

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love being able to look at a problem from an objective, mathematical perspective and work with the team to find a solution on behalf of the client. It’s very rewarding to be able to solve the puzzle and present the outcome to someone we’re working with.

What are your interests outside of work?

I have always been a big sports fan, and enjoy following rugby league, football, and Formula 1. I play a lot of golf in my spare time, and my wife and I like to travel and attend concerts together.

Mike Webb

What’s your role here at Depledge?

I’m the client support administration manager here. I look after all our clients’ information, process the data through our system, and manage their accounts on an ongoing basis.

How did you first get into financial services?

I began my career with the Department for Work and Pensions in 1993 before moving into the private sector in 1997. Since then, I’ve worked with a major international bank and a national independent advice firm, before joining Depledge when the company was founded in 2013.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I’m passionate about building client relationships and helping to create a suitable retirement plan for each person. One of the special things about Depledge is that the client can contact anybody on the team with any query that they might have, and they know they can trust our recommendations.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love sports, although I’m more of a spectator these days! I am married and have two children who have already flown the nest. I enjoy taking long walks with my dog, especially in the summer.

This is a lovely initiative and demonstrates the importance of personalities and relationships in what – day to day- can be mistaken for purely financial interactions
