We’re really enjoying introducing our team members to you month by month. Here’s our fourth instalment of “meet the team”, featuring Kaya, Nikki, and Anita.
Kaya Bowden
What’s your role here at Depledge?
I’m a paraplanning administrator, which is a role that lies between the administration and paraplanning teams. The main part of my job is to produce annual reviews and gather information for existing financial plans to be analysed.
How did you first get into financial services?
I took an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) course at college and one of the tutors used to be a financial planner. From then, I realised this was the sector I wanted to work in, so I began working at a small financial advice firm in Altrincham. Before this role, I took a slightly different position in providing Financial Expert Witness Reports for courts.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy the nature of our business, especially its values. All members of staff are supportive of each other and work as a team.
What are your interests outside of work, and what would your dream job be?
Every few months I enjoy going to gigs of all different kinds of music, from The Stone Roses to Beyoncé. I am an avid Manchester United supporter and have recently applied for season tickets for my local team, Salford City FC. My dream job would be a zookeeper given my love of animals.
Nikki Shields
What’s your role here at Depledge?
I’m a senior client support administrator, meaning I work across the financial planning and paraplanning teams to ensure we deliver timely and accurate outcomes for all our clients.
How did you first get into financial services?
I began my journey in financial services at Royal London, where I worked in a number of roles for 16 years. I then moved into the independent financial planning sector in 2018.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love how supportive my colleagues are of each other, and really enjoy helping to bring all the different elements of financial planning together in one big plan that can help our clients achieve their life goals.
What are your interests outside of work?
I’m currently learning Spanish in my spare time, and really enjoy socialising, especially eating in restaurants and spending time with loved ones.
Anita Gleeson
What’s your role here at Depledge?
I work as the administrator, overseeing our general operations and making sure things run as smoothly as possible for all departments.
How did you first get into financial services?
I’ve worked in financial services for more than 30 years, and have a special interest in pensions and wealth management.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy working with everyone around the firm and keeping everything ticking over in the office. We’re a really close-knit team, which means I look forward to seeing everyone each day!
What are your interests outside of work?
I’ve always loved hill and fell walking, and spend as much time in the great outdoors as possible.
