Reviews and Ratings for Financial adviser Andrew Day
Principal Financial Planning Director

Andrew Day

At work

Andrew started in financial services at the age of 24 and became a regulated adviser in 1999 at the age of 27. He has been an adviser for more than 25 years and has built a fantastic reputation as one of the most dedicated, qualified, and well-known advisers in the UK.

Andrew has worked for an actuarial arm of a major international bank, an investment management firm, a firm of stockbrokers, and a national Chartered financial planning firm.

Andrew established Depledge Strategic Wealth Management in 2013, and has been the driving force in continuing to grow the business and the team over the years.

At the beginning of his career, Andrew set about gaining as much knowledge as he could. He was pleased to attain Chartered financial planner status in 2006, followed by becoming a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society shortly afterwards. Andrew is still striving to increase his knowledge and has recently passed advanced level qualifications with the CISI to become a Certified Financial Planner and is accredited with the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA).

Andrew works with a range of clients. Many are directors, business owners, and people in senior positions. He specialises in helping his clients get financially organised, maximise their tax efficiencies, and achieve financial independence as soon as possible.

Many of his clients choose to continue working on their own terms, but through financial planning, they can achieve a balanced lifestyle between work, travel, family, and various other pursuits and activities.

At home

Outside of work, Andrew is very much a family man. He has been married for 24 years and has a 20-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter.

Andrew is a keen tennis player. He won a singles tournament at age 50, and is the captain of the Winter 4ths and Summer 5ths at his local club. He’s looking for a double promotion in 2025.

Andrew has also been a competitive swimmer since the age of eight, and still competes in outdoor events across the country. He was pleased to have come second in his age group in the 2019, 2021 and 2022 Dee Mile in Chester, and to have had a strong finish in the 5k Great North Swim in Windermere.

At age 10, Andrew received a Royal Humane Society Award for saving a man’s life.

Statement of Professional Standing Accreditations Qualifications

In the spotlight

The proudest moment of my career was:

Achieving the Chartered Financial Planner status in 2006 and then completing the CISI LEVEL 7 Case Study qualification (some 15 years later) in 2021 to become a Certified Financial Planner.

The three things I love most about my job are:

Meeting people from such a wide variety of backgrounds; making a difference to people’s lives; and having a purpose and using my experience to help people thrive in the profession.

The types of people I most enjoy working with are:

People with complex arrangements and requirements – I really enjoy helping them to live life to the full.
